The Company
At Metric Search we're currently partnered with a a well-established global contract research organization (CRO) that have a range of both preclinical through clinical services. They have gone through a lot of expansion & investment in the last couple of years, including the acquisition of multiple organisations and the development of several state-of-the-art facilities. They currently have an opening for a graduate or experienced Veterinarian at their expansive Ohio site, with prior lab animal/research animal experience.
The Role
Veterinarian
Ohio, United States (On-Site)
In this role you will be responsible for providing preventative medical, clinical & surgical care to research animals. You will be led by a supportive team and several individuals have found success with the guidance of the leadership at this organisation. There may be flexibility one day a week to WFH following initial joining period.
Some of your specific responsibilities will include the following:
- Provide technical support to research projects.
- Consult and collaborate with investigators.
- Assist with facility management.
- Provide staff training where necessary.
- Maintain compliance with GLP.
- Write & revise living documents applicable to animal care.
- Adhere to departmental & corporate Environmental and Occupational Safety policies.
- Participate in Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
The Requirements
This position is open to graduates with a DVM/VMD & licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
Alongside the above, other requirements will include:
- Have a DVM or VMD & licensed to practice veterinary medicine.
- Some surgical experience is preferable but not a requirement.
- Previous lab animal/research animal experience.
- Ability to be on-site as required.
